Child Advocacy

By providing a centrally-located, child-focused facility and a coordinated response by all investigative agencies, Blue Sky Bridge is proactive in its approach to helping families during child abuse investigations. We provide immediate intervention, forensic interviews, crisis intervention counseling, family support and follow-up services to child victims and non-offending family members.

Forensic Interviews

A Forensic Interview is a neutral interview intended to solicit accurate information based on alleged events that have occurred, and is utilized to assess and determine the safety of a child. Research indicates interviewing children in a safe, neutral, and child/family friendly environment increases reliability and credibility in a child’s statement. Ideally, it also provides each individual child the opportunity to tell their story in great depth one time.

Blue Sky Bridge interviews children from ages 3 to 18, as well as developmentally delayed adults. Learn more through “Taylor’s Story.”

Crisis Intervention

Professional advocates are available at Blue Sky Bridge, Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5pm, to answer any questions from caregivers, doctors, teachers, or anyone that may have a concern about a child. After assessing a caller’s needs, our advocates may make a referral to the appropriate resource for continued service or treatment. All calls are completely confidential.

Please call us at 303-444-1388. We want to hear from you.

Family Support

Child abuse can impact the whole family, which is why our Family Support Program offers support to caregivers during and after the Forensic Interview. Our goal is to ensure that the adult(s) caring for the child are receiving the information and tools they need in order to move forward and heal.

As an additional support to families, Blue Sky Bridge offers a free, 6 week psychoeducational support group for non-offending parents and caregivers of child survivors of sexual abuse. Dowloand the Caregiver and Parent Support Group flyer.
