POSITION TITLE

Bilingual Family Support Advocate

Blue Sky Bridge is searching for a full time Bilingual Family Support Advocate. As a well-established non-profit child advocacy center in Boulder, Colorado with a strong base of financial support, Blue Sky Bridge is experiencing a period of high growth. In 2017, Blue Sky Bridge will be expanding into a larger facility, adding capacity, and adding additional programs. The Bilingual Family Support Advocate will have significant opportunity to sustain and build upon this role, working with a dedicated team of professionals. The Leadership Team at Blue Sky Bridge is focused on organizational excellence and prioritizes the ongoing health of staff.

General Duties

The person filling this role will provide family support advocacy for non–offending family members.

Family Support Advocate

  • Works with Law Enforcement and Department of Housing and Human Services, Child Protection Division to maximize the support a child and family receives throughout the investigation process
  • Conducts basic family assessments
  • Provides families with a clinical crisis intervention during the forensic interview and sets the foundation for extended psycho-educational support
  • Maintains contact and therapeutic relationship with client as needed
  • Identifies and provides appropriate community resources and referrals
  • Provides education regarding topics such as:
    • childhood abuse/neglect
    • system/family impact
    • caregiver’s role in recovery
    • safety planning
    • roles of the multidisciplinary team
    • importance of treatment
    • how to identify a treatment provider
  • Maintains client case tracking system as assigned (NCATrak)
  • Provides crisis intervention over the phone as needed
  • Available after-hours on an emergency basis as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Responsibilities

  • Develops and presents educational workshops as assigned
  • Represents BSB on assigned community committees
  • Attends BSB events as scheduled

Training Requirements

  • Must have a master’s degree in a clinical field

Required Skills

  • Must be fluent in Spanish
  • Must have 2+ years experience providing advocacy or clinical work with families
  • Experience with clinical assessments preferred
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to family systems and child victimization
  • Knowledge of the overall child protection and legal system
  • Excellent communication and mediation skills
  • Ability to work well with a variety of disciplines
  • Excel knowledge

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Blue Sky Bridge is committed to offering competitive compensation and benefits to staff. Starting salary range for this position is $43,000 – $48,000 depending on experience, along with medical, dental and vision benefits.

Intake Coordinator

The Intake Coordinator is a new position with significant opportunity for growth, working with a dedicated team of professionals. General Duties

The person filling this role will provide coordination of day-to-day services provided by Blue Sky Bridge.

Intake Coordinator

  • Works with agency partners, staff and community members to schedule and confirm forensic interview appointments, medical appointments and therapy appointments at the center
  • Coordinates personnel and spaces needed for all appointments
  • Coordinates calendars and daily logistics
  • Enters intake data into NCATrak database
  • Manages incoming phone calls and agency emails; processes agency mail
  • Provides crisis intervention over the phone to families and community members, as needed
  • Provides administrative support for executive director and program staff
  • Maintains and orders agency supplies
  • Provides administrative support, including filing, record-keeping, and correspondence
  • Maintains and manages agency contact lists
  • Manages and maintains the physical environment of the agency, including supervision of cleaning service
  • Manages and maintains equipment, arranging IT support as necessary
  • Available after-hours on an emergency basis as needed
  • Provides case support as needed
  • Attends BSB events as scheduled
  • Other duties as assigned

Training Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor degree in a clinical field
  • Verbal and written fluency in Spanish is preferred

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

POSITION TITLE

Bilingual Education Associate (20 hours)

Blue Sky Bridge is searching for a part-time Bilingual Education Associate. As a well-established non-profit child advocacy center in Boulder, Colorado with a strong base of financial support, Blue Sky Bridge is experiencing a period of high growth. In 2017, Blue Sky Bridge will be expanding into a larger facility, adding capacity, and adding additional programs. The Bilingual Education Associate will have significant opportunity to sustain and build upon this role, working with a dedicated team of professionals. The Leadership Team at Blue Sky Bridge is focused on organizational excellence and prioritizes the ongoing health of staff.

GENERAL DUTIES:

The person filling this role will have one primary job responsibility: working with and supporting the Education Program. Work Schedule is 20 hours per week with times varying between 8:00am and 4:00pm. Some nights will be required for presentations. The person filling this role will be busiest during the school year, and may be required to work more than 20 hours a week. There is flexibility to work less hours per week during the summer and school breaks.

 Bilingual Education Associate (20 hours)

 To support and deliver Prevention Education efforts in local schools and throughout the community.

  • Coordinate prevention education services for School-Based Prevention Education Program, scheduling with schools and volunteer team.
  • Work in bilingual schools, to help deliver the education program with fidelity in a culturally-sensitive manner.
  • Act as staff member at school presentations to coach presenters and take disclosures from students in English and Spanish using minimal facts protocol.
  • Make appropriate referrals to Law Enforcement and Human Services when disclosures of abuse are made by students.
  • Identify, recruit and train volunteers and interns to assist in education programs.
  • Maintain statistical information and provide regular reports and updates to the Executive Director and staff.
  • Remain current regarding the latest child abuse issues, research, journals, and prevention techniques.
  • Assist with Education Committee meetings.
  • Represent Blue Sky Bridge on community committees and update staff on community initiatives, as needed.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships in the community.
  • Attend and promote fundraising and other community engagement activities as requested.
  • Conduct on-going education program evaluation and needs assessments, as designated by the Prevention Education Manager.
  • Represent Blue Sky Bridge at community outreach events, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
  • Organized, enthusiastic, efficient and committed personality that is able to work independently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • An acute sense of detail in order to efficiently maintain data as related to program evaluation.
  • Understanding of and commitment to competently working with diverse people and families.
  • Knowledge of issues surrounding child abuse/neglect, child development, and domestic violence.
  • Experience in public speaking/making presentations.
  • Excellent mediation skills.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • An ability to “change gears” and work collaboratively with internal staff and external partners.
  • A willingness to engage in ongoing personal and professional reflection and growth.
  • Experience in the field of or knowledge of child trauma.
  • Ability to work with both children and adults.
  • Capacity to handle any disclosures of potential abuse, and maintain confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree. A MSW, MFT, ECSE, or Master’s degree in another clinical field is preferred. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Past teaching experience is a plus.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Blue Sky Bridge is committed to offering competitive compensation and benefits to staff. Starting salary range for this 20 hour per week position is $22,500 – $25,000 depending on experience.

POSITION TITLE

Business Manager

The Business Manager is a new position with significant opportunity for growth, working with a dedicated team of professionals.  GENERAL DUTIES

Work closely with the Executive Director and the entire staff to oversee the business operations of Blue Sky Bridge.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance

  • Coordinates with contract bookkeeper, coding invoices and other bills, processing and depositing donations, running credit card donations, and other responsibilities pertaining to finances
  • Provides monthly analysis of financial statements
  • Maintains cash flow analysis
  • Works with Executive Director to develop the annual budget

Administrative

  • Manages organizational budget
  • Manages payroll
  • Oversees and coordinates insurance and benefits programs
  • Creates & maintains new hire packets, orients new employees, and helps in completion of all appropriate paperwork
  • Works with staff to maintain up-to-date procedural, operations, personnel, and board manuals

Development

  • Tracks grant funding and expenditures by month to ensure grants compliance
  • Analyzes fundraising campaigns as requested
  • Attends BSB events as scheduled

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; MA, MNM or similar preferred
  • Basic understanding of nonprofit accrual accounting. Quickbooks experience a plus
  • Strong computer skills required; Microsoft Office Suite, DonorPerfect, Constant Contact, and QuickBooks preferred
  • Three to five years of related experience; Nonprofit experience required
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and flexible
  • Self-starter who is able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Must be able to pass a background screening check
  • Mature individual who is able to interact with diverse constituents in a discreet and professional manner
  • Comfort working in a crisis-oriented work place
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Blue Sky Bridge is committed to offering competitive compensation and benefits to staff. Salary range for this position is $50,000 – $57,000 depending on experience, along with medical, dental and vision benefits.

About Blue Sky Bridge

Blue Sky Bridge is a non-profit organization located in Boulder, Colorado working toward prevention and intervention in the fight against child abuse. We are an essential component of the multi-disciplinary team located within the child welfare and judicial systems. We provide services to children who are victims of and witnesses to crimes and their families, through forensic interviews and family crisis intervention. We also provide training for law enforcement and human services in addition to offering prevention education programs for the community. We have helped over 10,000 children and families since our founding in 1995. In 2017 we will be adding medical and mental health programs to provide a continuum of care to families facing abuse.
